They are leftovers "born" in the in-between realm, and exist as the body and soul of people who lost their hearts to darkness. As they lack hearts to possess light or darkness, they are shunned by both; according to the cosmology of the Kingdom Hearts universe, they exist in a state of non-existence, made of nothing. The Thirteenth Order (or Organization XIII) is a group of Nobodies that possess a strong enough will to have retained their human shape, even after the loss of their hearts. They seek to discover the mysteries that lie within the heart and use the power of Kingdom Hearts to become complete humans. As Nobodies, they lack emotion and morality, unable to feel guilt and remorse for their actions. Most members mask their true nature by pretending to have emotions, deceiving both themselves and those they meet. And thus we come to Demyx. There was not one member of the Order who was able to come to a satisfactory conclusion as to why Myde, a college student possessing very little self-confidence, or in fact possessing anything other than a certain amount of charisma and an amusing (but nonetheless worthless) ability to play a multitude of instruments, became Demyx, one of the few to retain their human forms after death. Deep in his heart*, Demyx knew there was something fundamentally wrong with his existance, and with how the Organization was attempting the regain of their hearts. So he jumped ship at the first sight of land , and it seems that land was Margate. He's not as comfortable with his existence as he'd like people to believe, but it is rarely his comfort that he is concerned with. *Oh, the irony. It burns. | |||||||||
